The Quiet Superstar, Chase Utley

It was hard to tell after the Philadelphia Phillies Game 5 win of the New York Yankees, that Phillies second baseball, Chase Utley, had just tied Reggie Jackson for the most home runs (5) in a World Series.  As Fox reporter Ken Rosenthal mention the record-breaking stat to Utley he smiled slightly and said that it was pretty cool.

Utley’s performance has got people wondering if he should be the World Series MVP even if the Phillies ultimately lose to the Yankees.  Utley, who is quietly having one of the best World Series’ efforts ever, has even been rumored to tell manager, Charlie Manuel, not to mention him too much.  If Utley isn’t considered one of the best in the game, he should be now.  Don’t forget, this is guy who refused to admit that he was hurt last year in the World Series and then immediately had hip surgery once the season was over.
