Mike Ditka’s Apology for Calling Dan Orlovsky a “Pollock”

By on January 1, 2012

If you are like most hard-drinking Americans, you probably missed most of the 9am Sportscenter on ESPN on New Year’s Day.  But towards the end of the show, Mike Ditka made this apology for comments he made about Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Dan Orlovsky.

I missed Ditka’s original comments but one of our twitter followers @IrishMik informed us that Ditka said “he’s got a good pollock name.”

Really?  Is someone a little grumpy this morning at ESPN?

I hope Ditka didn’t make a New Year’s resolution of not having to apologize to the PC Police, because that didn’t take long.

What's wrong with a good pollack name?? Ditka speaks like an everyday guy, so what. Get over it .

Bigjohn – Im still in shock that he had to apologize. I, myself, have a good pollock last name and I hardly see that word as deragataory. Shit, I always thought of Ditka as an honorary pollock anyway!
