All things ended well for the Kansas Jayhawks and their head coach Bill Self in the round of 32 against North Carolina but late in the second half Self’s left hand took a beating.
While up 16 points over the Tar Heels, Kansas guard Naddir Tharpe was called for a rare 5 second violation while being guarded outside the 3-point line. When Self received the explanation from the referee, he punched his hand 3 times. The punch was awkward because it was more like he was trying to teach his hand a lesson instead of a sign of anger.
Self has a few days to rest his hand as his Jayhawks will do battle with Michigan on Friday.
