Red Sox Have Been Traveling With A Cigar Holding Indian For Good Luck

Red Sox Cigar Indian

The Boston Red Sox posted this picture on Instagram today of a three-foot tall cigar shop Indian that has been traveling with the team recently.  It’s no Jobu but Jonny Gomes talked about the statue in a recent diary post on ESPN.

Jake Peavy picked up a good luck charm for us in San Francisco with a three-foot tall cigar store Indian. He went with us to Los Angeles and is home here with us. He brought that guy into our lives. So far he’s been good luck and has had some wins in him.

The Sox have won 10 out of their last 13 leading into their Friday night game against the Yankees.  The Red Sox have a 6.5 game lead in the AL East and as long as that Indian doesn’t magically make Popeyes’ chicken appear, they should clinch a playoff spot in the next few days.
